Our Workshops

11:15 - 11:45 Thunk It Theatre @thunkittheatre

Hansel and Gretel! “We are Brave! We are Strong!” Join Hansel and Gretel for a woodland adventure in this fun, accessible performance! This SEND inclusive and signed performance sees siblings Hansel and Gretel telling their story. Abandoned in the woods, the two children must use their guile and courage to escape the clutches of the evil witch, before she gobbles them up for dinner.

With singing, dancing, and things to feel, smell, hear and see - Thunk-It’s ‘Hansel and Gretel’ is a feast for the senses, and gets the audience included in the magic and fun of this classic fairytale story with a twist!

14:00 - 16:00 Circus Skills York CIC

A circus drop-in zone for young and old to try out some fun circus skills with our ringmaster at hand to teach you new skills.

14:45 Common Ground

Our music workshop will explore the stories behind our favourite music. Participants will be encouraged to share their favourite piece of music or song and the story behind it. When everyone who is comfortable has shared we will then work towards a creative output based on our music, stories and discussion. Depending on where the workshop takes us this could be a new song, story, poem, picture, dance, playlist or maybe something else!

Everyone engages and can engage with music on some level – on the radio, in the car, in the shower, out shopping, singing nursery rhymes, playing an instrument. We would love to hear and share the stories behind peoples musical experiences to help us discover new music and in doing so learn more about our community.
